Grandson loves it

Stunning
I love this set. It was an absolute blast to put together. It took about 4 hours of build time. It is a well designed set that captures the lines of the F40 rather well. It is also solidly built . I have no worries letting my kids hold it.

It was cool looking in pictures
It was challenging to put together, but it didn’t hold up well. It didn’t have that solid Lego structure and feel to it that many of the other Lego cars have once they’re built. It was cool looking in pictures, but it was more like a model when we finished it, not really a car that you could roll around and play with.

Great set. The car looks nice when complete and has really cool little details. Slight warning though, it’s a pretty hard build and i was halfway through when I realized I messed up at the beginning and I had to start over. Overall awesome set.

My grandson was so excited to receive this gift. He had it put together in one day so I will need to purchase another gift that takes a bit longer next time. He is 8 years old. So, no need to be the recommended 16 years old on the box, he stated! Quote, Gramma, you’re the BEST!

I consider myself a fairly competent builder that has used many different advanced techniques in my own creations. Assembling this thing was an incredible learning experience to see more new techniques, more use of random pieces, some crazy ways to attach things with SNOT (studs not on top), and was very rewarding to assemble. If you haven’t played with Lego in a while, THIS is the one to get. It’s seriously neat.

Fun for all ages!
This is my first lego build in many years and all the positive reviews are well earned. This set was a joy to put together with many smile inducing details along the way. The finished product is “model quality” and certainly does encourage handling posing its many opening features. Now they need to do another one, I would LOVE to see a 288 GTO.

Amazing set. Must buy.
The level of detail in this set is striking. One of those sets that you can proudly display on a shelf for everyone to see. At first glance, doesn’t even look like a lego set, in fact looks more like a regular model. This is one of those lego sets that, if you don’t buy, will continue to regret years later. It’s an instant classic.

Great Lego kit
This was a Christmas gift for my 10 year-old grandson, as it was high on his wish list. Although he has been a Lego enthusiast for several years now, I thought a kit rated for age 14+ might be a bit hard, if not frustrating, for him. Well, the day after Christmas he got down on floor with it, studied the instructions carefully, and 8 hours later he finished, with no help! He absolutely enjoyed every minute building it, and loves the finished product..

It took me 2 days to put together and one piece short that we had to replace with an external piece but looks great. Wish it wasn’t so expensive though; it’s for a gift.

Missing piece
Received this item for Christmas and unfortunately I had only 4ish pages left to go of the instructions only to realize a piece was missing. A red 3×2 was needed and I only had a red 4×2 left. I looked back throughout the instructions and used all the correct pieces where they were called for and where the package contents said I should have only 2 4×2’s I actually had 3 and the amount of 3×2’s I had in the package was one less than the package contents said I should have. First time I have seen this happen with lego before. Needless to say the car cant be finished until I can get that red 3×2 replaced somehow. The quality of the set is great minus this frustrating issue.

Best Current $100 Lego Set
When Lego uses their creativity in technical car builds, the results are usually fantastic. This set is the best I’ve had the pleasure of building. It is a phenomenal set piece that resides on my desk at work. I’ve gotten multiple compliments on it and everyone wants to touch and/or play with it. Do not let them. This build is for you. Once you build it, you will make vroom sounds. You will display it in multiple configurations depending on your mood for the day. Maybe you want to show off the engine one day and the interior the next.For less than $100, this is perhaps the best complex Lego set you can buy. Enzo Ferrari would be proud of this Lego replica.

Hey you guys !!! I loved getting this amazing set of the lego(Ferrari-F40) it was a challenge for sure. I had a great time, putting the sweet F40 together. Inspite, bc I love sports cars on top of it !!! Lol. It was worth the $$$. I make sure, my sweet lego Ferrari-F40) is safe. I really keep a good eye on it. Bc im proud of how I was able to accomplish the challenge to make the cool Ferrari-F40 !!!

I saw this on display at a Lego store while on a business trip. I convinced myself that I didn’t need it but ended up ordering it a few weeks later off line. At age 31 I haven’t really played with Lego’s since I was a kid. I justified buying and building this though because I love the F40 and came to the realization that this is probably the only F40 I will ever be able to afford:D Everything went together smoothly. I’d recommend opening all the bags initially and just dumping them into a pile. I thought they would be in some kind of logical order where the first several pages of instructions used one bag. This would save hunting for pieces. However that is not the case. I had 3 bags with a #1 printed on them. Being an engineer was was fun to put together and appreciate how difficult it must have been to design this car. It took about 4 hours.

Great fun to assemble. A difficult engineering and design change for Lego to produce.
This was my first Lego kit of any kind. It became a great experience and a lot of fun after the initial learning phase. There are no written instructions, only a 137 page full color picture book illustrating what pieces to select, how to assemble them, and where to place them. There are 14 bags consisting of the 1200 parts. I filled 14 plastic bowls thinking there was some reason for the different bags and that I should keep the pieces separated. I still don’t know the answer to that quandary. I caution you to be very careful in placing parts together – they must be exactly where they are shown in the sometimes unclear pictures. One dot off and you will have to take it apart and redo the steps. The end result is a very neat model with some functioning parts (hood opens, doors open, etc.) that you will happily place on display.
